摘要: The late pulse occurring in photomultiplier tubes (PMTS) is attributed to photoelectron backscattering. The small effective open area of microchannel plates (MCPs) increases the probability of photoelectrons bouncing on the front surface of MCPs and aggravates late pulses. In this work, a three-dimensional MCP-PMT model is developed in CST particle studio, a powerful electromagnetic field simulation program, to evaluate the effects of secondary emission yield (SEY) property of the MCP input facet and electric field on the photoelectron backscattering. Timing properties and the number of collected electrons are extracted without smearing due to electronic noise and finite pulse width. Results predict that the collection efficiency (CE) and the time performance can be improved by coating the MCP Nickel-Chromium input electrode with a high SEY material and operating in a proper photocathode-MCP bias voltage. 摘要: This paper describes the design of the 8-inch and 20-inch photomultiplier tubes based on microchannel plates (MCP-PMT). In the large area MCP-PMT, the small MCPs replace the bulky dynode chain in the traditional large PMTs. Photoelectrons are electrostatically focused on MCPs. The MCP assembly, focusing electrodes as well as the supply voltages are carefully optimized to achieve a wide photosensitive area, high photon detection efficiency and good timing resolution. 摘要: We report a broadband RF channelizer based on an integrated optical frequency Kerr micro-comb source, with an RF channelizing bandwidth of 90 GHz, a high RF spectral slice resolution of 1.04 GHz, and experimentally verify the RF performance up to 19 GHz. This approach of realizing RF channelizers offers reduced complexity, size, and potential cost for a wide range of applications to microwave signal detection.

标题: Suppression of the critical collapse for one-dimensional solitons by saturable quintic nonlinear lattices

摘要: The stabilization of one-dimensional solitons by a nonlinear lattice against the critical collapse in the focusing quintic medium is a challenging issue. We demonstrate that this purpose can be achieved by combining a nonlinear lattice and saturation of the quintic nonlinearity. The system supports three species of solitons, namely, fundamental (even-parity) ones and dipole (odd-parity) modes of onand off-site-centered types. Very narrow fundamental solitons are found in an approximate analytical form, and systematic results for very broad unstable and moderately broad partly stable solitons, including their existence and stability areas, are produced by means of numerical methods. Stability regions of the solitons are identified by means of systematic simulations. The stability of all the soliton species obeys the Vakhitov-Kolokolov criterion. Published by AIP Publishing.

标题: Learning to Predict Eye Fixations via Multiresolution Convolutional Neural Networks

摘要: Eye movements in the case of freely viewing natural scenes are believed to be guided by local contrast, global contrast, and top-down visual factors. Although a lot of previous works have explored these three saliency cues for several years, there still exists much room for improvement on how to model them and integrate them effectively. This paper proposes a novel computation model to predict eye fixations, which adopts a multiresolution convolutional neural network (Mr-CNN) to infer these three types of saliency cues from raw image data simultaneously. The proposed Mr-CNN is trained directly from fixation and nonfixation pixels with multiresolution input image regions with different contexts. It utilizes image pixels as inputs and eye fixation points as labels. Then, both the local and global contrasts are learned by fusing information in multiple contexts. Meanwhile, various top-down factors are learned in higher layers. Finally, optimal combination of top-down factors and bottom-up contrasts can be learned to predict eye fixations. The proposed approach significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art methods on several publically available benchmark databases, demonstrating the superiority of Mr-CNN. We also apply our method to the RGB-D image saliency detection problem. Through learning saliency cues induced by depth and RGB information on pixel level jointly and their interactions, our model achieves better performance on predicting eye fixations in RGB-D images.

摘要: At present, paper-based reading and writing are still important ways to learn and record knowledge. People usually rely on text entry on a keyboard to search for interpretations about the puzzled content while reading. So, based on the micro camera and inertial sensor, we designed SmartPen, a low-cost reading assistant tool supporting text or image capture, recognition, and search. The experimental results show that SmartPen can help users read publications conveniently and efficiently.

摘要: Due to machining errors and assembly errors, the optical system of the camera is somewhat different from the ideal model through the pinholes. That means, there are different degrees of non-linear optical distortion between the ideal image and the actual image formed by the camera. In order to improve the positioning accuracy of the camera, distortion correction should be done. This paper puts forward a GPU-Based Star Calibration and Proofreading Algorithm (GBSC-PA). This algorithm is completed by CUDA programmable graphics processor technologies, and a number of lens distortion coefficients are solved using star point images. Moreover, the optimal distortion correction matrix can be used to improve the accuracy and speed of the algorithm greatly. Through the experimental measurements and simulation, the feasibility and efficiency of the new algorithm are verified. Compared with the conventional correction algorithm based on CPU, the speed-up ratio of GPU-based parallel program can be reached to 43.094.

摘要: In this paper, we propose a novel image inpainting framework consisting of an interpolation step and a low-rank tensor completion step. More specifically, we first initial the image with triangulation-based linear interpolation, and then we find similar patches for each missing-entry centered patch. Treating a group of patch matrices as a tensor, we employ the recently proposed effective t-SVD tensor completion algorithm with a warm start strategy to inpaint it. We observe that the interpolation step is such a rough initialization that the similar patch we found may not exactly match with the reference, so we name the problem as Patch Mismatch and analyse the error caused by it thoroughly. Our theoretical analysis shows that the error caused by Patch Mismatch can be decomposed into two components, one of which can be bounded by a reasonable assumption named local patch similarity, and another part is lower than that using matrix. Experiments on real images verify our method's superiority to the state-of-the-art inpainting methods.

摘要: Most state-of-the-art scene text detection algorithms are deep learning based methods that depend on bounding box regression and perform at least two kinds of predictions: text/nontext classification and location regression. Regression plays a key role in the acquisition of bounding boxes in these methods, but it is not indispensable because text/non-text prediction can also be considered as a kind of semantic segmentation that contains full location information in itself. However, text instances in scene images often lie very close to each other, making them very difficult to separate via semantic segmentation. Therefore, instance segmentation is needed to address this problem. In this paper, PixelLink, a novel scene text detection algorithm based on instance segmentation, is proposed. Text instances are first segmented out by linking pixels within the same instance together. Text bounding boxes are then extracted directly from the segmentation result without location regression. Experiments show that, compared with regression-based methods, PixelLink can achieve better or comparable performance on several benchmarks, while requiring many fewer training iterations and less training data.

摘要: Bioresorbable Vascular scaffold (BVS) is a promising type of stent in percutaneous coronary intervention. Struts apposition assessment is important to ensure the safety of implanted BVS. Currently, BVS struts apposition analysis in 2D IVOCT images still depends on manual delineation of struts, which is labor intensive and time consuming. Automatic struts segmentation is highly desired to simplify and speed up quantitative analysis. However, it is difficult to segment struts accurately based on the contour, due to the influence of fractures inside strut and blood artifacts around strut. In this paper, a novel framework of automatic struts segmentation based on four corners is introduced, in which prior knowledge is utilized that struts have obvious feature of box-shape. Firstly, a cascaded AdaBoost classifier based on enriched haar-like features is trained to detect struts corners. Then, segmentation result can be obtained based on the four detected corners of each strut. Tested on the same five pullbacks consisting of 480 images with strut, our novel method achieved an average Dice's coefficient of 0.85 for strut segmentation areas, which is increased by about 0.01 compared to the state-of-the-art. It concludes that our method can segment struts accurately and robustly and has better performance than the state-of-the-art. Furthermore, automatic struts malapposition analysis in clinical practice is feasible based on the segmentation results.

摘要: An adaptive control scheme is proposed to compensate the effects caused by cable-harness disturbance in spatial turntable. The proposed control tactics applied feedforward compensation method which is based on a PD structure and estimated value of the disturbance. Firstly, the estimation is given by a radial basis function(RBF) neural network with adaptive algorithm. Then, a control scheme is designed and the stability of system has been proved by Lyapunov theory. Finally, the simulation results demonstrate that the proposed control scheme effectively eliminated cable-harness disturbance.

摘要: The speed sensorless vector control system not only saves the speed sensor but also reduces the size of the system device. It reduces the cost and improve the system's operating accuracy and reliability, which has strong practical value and economic benefits. Now many scholars have engaged in research in this area and achieved some results in simulation research, laying a solid foundation for practical applications basis. The model reference adaptive system(MRAS) was developed from the late 1950s which belongs to a type of adaptive system. From the structure, MRAS can be divided into three parts: adjustable model, reference model and adaptive law. The idea of MRAS identification is to use an expression that does not contain unknown parameters as the expected model, and an expression that contains the parameters to be identified is used in the adjustable model. And the two models have the same physical significance of output. Using two models of the difference in the output amount is achieved through the appropriate adaptive law to identify the parameters of the PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor). This paper designs a three-phase PMSM sensorless vector control system based on MRAS. The simulation model and results are given and analyzed.

摘要: ATP compound axis control system is an important component and key technology in the intersatellite optical communication system, which can effectively improve the tracking accuracy and system bandwidth of the photoelectric tracking system. In this paper, the principle and structure of the compound axis control system are introduced in detail, the bandwidth and error suppression ability of the system are analyzed. The simulation experiment of ATP compound axis control system is carried out by Matlab/Simulink, and the tracking precision of the system is less than 2 mu rad. The experimental results show that the ATP compound axis control system has the advantages of good dynamic performance, high tracking accuracy and strong error suppression ability.

摘要: The A* algorithm is widely used in path planning due to its simplicity and effectiveness. In this paper, firstly, aiming at the difficulty in determining the heuristic function in the A* algorithm, performance comparison is made between the four heuristic functions such as Manhattan distance, Euclidean distance, Chebyshev distance and Diagonal distance. In the path planning, through these, we obtain the degree of influence of different heuristic functions on A* algorithm efficiency. At the same time, an improved heuristic function is proposed to select the cost coefficient of the Manhattan distance with a weighted measure. By comparing simulation results, the improved A* algorithm has some optimization in path planning with respect to search time, search range, path length and so on, and it's certain reference to the heuristic function design of A* algorithm.

摘要: This paper presents a data driven fuzzy controller for a generic hypersonic vehicle. The fuzzy systems with any bounded nonconstant piecewise continuous membership functions are introduced to reconstruct the unknown system dynamics without relying on the exact mathematical models. The control law is designed based on the reconstructed fuzzy models. The stability analysis of the whole control system is presented from the Lyapunov function and shows that the tracking errors converge to zero. In order to save online computation time, the fuzzy membership function parameters are determined based on the idea of the OS-Fuzzy-ELM algorithm by randomly assigning the values to them. The simulation results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed controller.

摘要: Remote sensing images often suffer low contrast, and the efficiency and robustness of contrast enhancement for remote sensing images is still a challenge. To meet with the requirements of applications, Liu et al recently proposed a self-adaptive contrast enhancement method (HCTLS) based on the histogram compacting transform (HCT). In this method, some gray levels on which the frequency is smaller than a certain reference, will merged into their adjacent levels for a compact level distribution. However, if the merged levels whose corresponding pixels in some connected regions, local contrast of these connected regions will decrease, even disappear. In this paper, an improved enhancement method (DPHCT) for remote sensing image based on the HCTLS is presented for preserving more the local detail and contrast. Firstly, extracting the connected regions from the enhanced result by HCT where the local contrast is decreased or disappeared. These connected regions are decomposed into the inner regions and the boundary regions adaptively. Then, construct pixel values by using the unified brightness function to maintain the contrast for the connected regions inside. At the same time eliminate stitching lines by using a weighted fusion spliced algorithm to eliminate the problem of borders outstanding in result of intensity roughness. Finally, the image is normalized into [0, 255] by linear stretch. Experimental results indicate that the proposed algorithm not only can enhance the global contrast but also can preserve local contrast and details.

摘要: Remote sensing image retrieval has many important applications in civilian and military fields, such as disaster monitoring and target detecting. However, the existing research on image retrieval, mainly including to two directions, text based and content based, cannot meet the rapid and convenient needs of some special applications and emergency scenes. Based on text, the retrieval is limited by keyboard inputting because of its lower efficiency for some urgent situations and based on content, it needs an example image as reference, which usually does not exist. Yet speech, as a direct, natural and efficient human-machine interactive way, can make up these shortcomings. Hence, a novel cross-modal retrieval method for remote sensing image and spoken audio is proposed in this paper. We first build a large-scale remote sensing image dataset with plenty of manual annotated spoken audio captions for the cross-modal retrieval task. Then a Deep Visual-Audio Network is designed to directly learn the correspondence of image and audio. And this model integrates feature extracting and multi-modal learning into the same network. Experiments on the proposed dataset verify the effectiveness of our approach and prove that it is feasible for speech-to-image retrieval.

摘要: Strabismus is a common vision disorder that affects around 4% of the population, bringing about unpleasant influences on people's health and quality of life. The cover test is one of the exams for detecting this pathology, which is considered as the golden standard method. However, the subjectivity of the ophthalmologist conducting the cover test could lead to uncertainties and limitations to the result of strabismus assessment. Nowadays computer-aid methods have been used to assist ophthalmological diagnosis and therapy, whereas the development and use of the high-tech is not a general reality within the sub-specialty of strabismus. In this study, an automatic stimulus module controlled by the micro-control-unit is used to generate the cover action of the occluder and the imaging devices are used to simultaneously monitor and record the movement of the eyes. With the proposed system and algorithm, the presence and type of strabismus can be generated automatically, which makes the diagnosis of strabismus objective, automatic and highly efficient.

摘要: According to the difference between gradients of targets and background in an infrared image, a multi-scale space and multidirectional gradients of search method for detecting infrared weak targets is presented. Before detecting the target, top-hat algorithm is used to preprocess the image to highlight weak targets and suppress large background areas. Then, using the normalized LOG (Laplacian Of Gaussion) scale space, the center coordinates and sizes of proposed objects in the image are obtained according to the different filter responses of the image pixels. An adaptive window is defined for each proposed target. Adaptive threshold of gradient is calculated based on the response image. Multidirectional gradients of search are performed based on the threshold. Next, the response image is binarized and the objects is detected after blob analysis. Theories and experiments indicate that our method can detect targets of different sizes under noisy infrared images.

摘要: Lip reading, the ability to recognize text information from the movement of a speaker's mouth, is a difficult and challenging task. Recently, the end-to-end model that maps a variable-length sequence of video frames to text performs poorly in real life situation where people unintentionally move the lips instead of speaking. The goal of this work is to improve the performance of lip reading task in real life. The model proposed in this article consists of two networks that are visual to audio feature network and audio feature to text network Our experiments showed that the model proposed in this article can achieve 92.76% accuracy in lip reading task on the dataset that the unintentional lips movement was added.
